Sorrento House

AVOR Architecture was engaged by a private developer to prepare the concept design for a new coastal residence in Sorrento. The site was heavily constrained by planning controls, including reduced height limits and restrictive building envelopes that significantly influenced the design response. Working within these parameters, AVOR developed a contemporary home that embraces the relaxed character of the Mornington Peninsula while maximising natural light, openness and connection to the outdoors.

Through careful planning, considered material selection and refined spatial design, the proposal achieves a light, airy and distinctly coastal feel without compromising functionality or compliance. The project demonstrates AVOR’s ability to balance complex planning requirements with thoughtful residential design outcomes tailored to both the site and its surrounding context.
