Cheltenham Secondary College - Covered Outdoor Learning Area
Cheltenham Secondary College - Covered Outdoor Learning Area
Location: Cheltenham, Victoria
Client: Victorian School Building Authority
Value: $2 million
Status: Concept
Project Type: Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA)
While delivering new outdoor courts for Cheltenham Secondary College, AVOR Architecture developed a concept design for a new Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) to support the school’s future funding opportunities and long-term campus vision. Spanning the length of the courts, the proposed structure creates a flexible all-weather environment that allows students to play, learn and gather throughout the year. The design responds to both extreme heat and wet weather conditions, providing valuable sheltered outdoor space that enhances student wellbeing and usability of the school grounds. With a contemporary architectural form and integration into the existing court precinct, the concept demonstrates how thoughtful design can maximise the functionality of educational facilities while supporting future growth and investment opportunities for the school.
