Some buildings hold more than function—they carry decades of community memory. The Myrtleford pavilion, originally built by local volunteers over 50 years ago, is one of them. AVOR approached its renewal with care, aiming to respect its history while preparing it for future use.
The result is a thoughtful transformation that revitalises the structure without losing its character. Upgrades include contemporary, female-friendly change facilities, a new canteen, flexible function areas, and essential amenities such as first aid and storage. Together, these elements ensure the pavilion meets modern expectations while remaining grounded in its community roots.
Inspired by the surrounding alpine landscape, the design incorporates natural materials and subtle mountain forms to create a warm, familiar atmosphere. It feels connected to place—welcoming players, supporters, and visitors alike. More than an upgrade, this project is a respectful evolution, preserving a valued landmark while strengthening its role as a community gathering space for years to come.
