Turra Pavillion
Trafalgar Reserve
Location: Trafalgar, Victoria
Client: Baw Baw Shire Council
Value: $3 million
Status: Completed
Project Type: Council owned Sports Pavilion
This project sets out a long-term vision for a vibrant, inclusive community hub where sport, people, and landscape connect. Commissioned to deliver both a future-focused master plan and a detailed pavilion design, AVOR has reimagined the reserve as a cohesive, multi-use destination. Central to the design is inclusivity, with modern, female-friendly change facilities supporting AFL, soccer, and cricket, alongside a gymnasium and flexible support spaces.
The Pavilion is carefully integrated into its surroundings, with façades inspired by the natural tones of the nearby ranges, creating a strong sense of place. Outdoor spectator areas are shaped to provide protection from prevailing winds while maintaining clear views of the action.
Inside, the building is designed for year-round use. A commercial kitchen supports busy match days and enables functions and community events. The result is a thoughtful, high-performing facility that strengthens community connections and supports the growth of local sport.
